Ayaan Ahmad, Violin
Ayaan Ahmad is a 17-year-old Bangladeshi-American violinist from Sharon, Massachusetts. His formative teachers include Daniela Rubenstein and Jan Mark Sloman. He currently studies with Ryan Meehan of the Calidore String Quartet, and has been influenced by Donald Weilerstein of the New England Conservatory and Li Lin of The Julliard School.
Ayaan was accepted into and attended the Perlman Music Program for two summers, performing and working with world-renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman and other esteemed faculty.
In 2023, he was one of eight violinists selected internationally from ages 16-26 to participate in the Verbier Festival Academy in Switzerland. Ayaan made his orchestral debut at the age of 15 with the Concord Orchestra and conductor Jeffrey Rink, performing Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto. He has since performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras across New England, often a winner of young artist competitions, and has been featured on National Public Radio’s (NPR’s) From the Top radio program. In 2023, Ayaan performed Saint- Saën’s Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso with the Sharon Community Chamber Orchestra.
An avid chamber musician, Ayaan has performed in NEC’s Jordan Hall as both a violinist and violist of a string quartet. He has also served as concertmaster of the 2023 and 2024 Massachusetts All-State Orchestra, performing in Boston’s Symphony Hall.
